Murat Ersahin. Born Istanbul in 1970, Murat Ersahin graduated from Ankara Bilkent University Department of Political Science and Public Administration. During his school years he founded cinema and poetry clubs and published periodicals. Professionally, he was involved in banking and advertising for a while. Since 2000, he earns his living solely as a film critic. His articles have been published in several magazines such as “Milliyet Sanat”, “Digiturk Dergi”, “Empire”, “Total”, “Sinematürk”, “Kitap-lik”. Since 2004, he regularly writes for “Sinema”magazine in his column titled “Human out of Cinema” and since 2009 publishes articles on www.sinemamuzik.com. He prepared and presented a weekly radio show on movies for TRT between 2005 and 2010. He is the president of the Honorary Committee of SIYAD (Turkish Film Critics Association). He served as a jury member at several domestic festivals and also as a jury member for FIPRESCI at Film Festival Cottbus and the Istanbul Film Festival. His storybook titled “The Man Was Unhappy and Middle-aged” was published in 2008.
