Mario Abbade. Director and screenwriter of the documentary “Neville D’Almeida – Chronicler of Beauty and Chaos”, selected for the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2018. He is the founder and curator of the “Rio de Janeiro International Fantastic Film Festival”. A journalist, researcher and film critic for the newspaper “O Globo”. He is the creator and presenter of the column “Thinking About Cinema” shown on the newscast of “TV Bandeirantes” and on the local radio “BandNews Rio FM”. He was the president of the jury of The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) at the Cannes Film Festival in 2015 and has been a member of the jury of the Rio, Montreal, Cuba, Palm Springs, San Francisco and Dubai festivals. Author of the book “New York City – The Discotheque that Started the Disco Era in Brazil”. Editor and organizer of the books “John Carpenter – The Fear is Just the Beginning” and “The Last Tough Guy – Kirk Douglas Centenary”. He acts as curator of film festivals and professor of film criticism. He has been the president of the Association of Film Critics of Rio de Janeiro (ACCRJ) for two terms and annually organizes the “Best Films of the Year” Retrospective. He was the curator of the exhibitions gathering the work of David Lynch, John Waters, Dario Argento, John Carpenter, James Dean, Neville D’Almeida, Carlos Reichenbach, Frank Sinatra, George A.
