Ivonete Pinto is a film critic, the vice president of ABRACCINE - Brazilian Association of Film Critics, and the co-founder and first president of ACCIRS - Critics Association Film of Rio Grande do Sul. She has a doctorate in Cinema from the University of São Paulo, with a thesis on Abbas Kiarostami. She is professor in the course of Cinema and Audiovisual at the Federal University of Pelotas, co-editor of print magazine “Teorema”, editor of the online academic magazine “Orson”, and a film critic for the ACCIRS website (http://www.accirs.com.br/). She has participated as a jury in various film festivals, such as Ceará, Gramado, FestRio, Mar del Plata and Tehran. She is the author of the books “The Mediocrity”, “Discovering Iran” and “Samovar in the Tropics”.
