Ayman Youssef is a freelance film critic, writer, lecturer and TV compiler. He is a specialist in Asian cinema, particularly Japanese cinema, and has written two major books on the Japanese cinema, still the first of their kind in Arabic, in addition to some other booklets. He lives in Cairo, Egypt and mainly writes for the "Al-Hayat" daily but also other publications in Egypt and the Arab world.
