Mumbai Feature 2006

Jahnu Barua's film I Did Not Kill Gandhi was seen, by the critics' jury, as best film of the festival.

The festival took place March 23-30, 2006.

Indian Impressions, Indian Visions. Barbara Lorey gives an overview on the festival and its problems, and focuses on the section "Indian Visions" presenting 18 non-Bollywood films and showing "India in its stunning diversity of regional languages, cultures and religions". arrow.
The Good and the Best.
Aijaz Gul reviews the winning film, which he calls "a cinematic jewel," and Rituparno Ghosh's Bengali film The Views of the Inner Chamber, in which "the dark, sinful and macabre ambience comes out perfectly in every scene."
Beyond Bollywood. Utpal Borpujari provides an informative overview of the festival, which in his opinion reflected, "not only a wide variety of storytelling styles but also a range of social sensibilities".
