Reports:

A Festival To Be Remembered. Cigdem Kömürcüoglu praises all the riches to be found at this year's Istanbul festival and is surprised by how popular were even the most specialised films.

The Mystery of Innocence. Gorazd Trusnovec is drawn into the allegorical world of Lucile Hadzihalilovic's Innocence, a favourite with both critics and the audience in Istanbul.

Life's Lack of Glamour. Yesim Tabak gets the maximum pleasure from the minimalism in Semih Kaplanoglu's Angel's Fall, despite its depressing theme.

The Raw Poetry of a City. João Antunes feels that seeing Istanbul Tales in the very city of the title, gives it an extra dimension.

The Conquest of Liberty. Marcel Martin is intrigued by Yolda , Erden Kiral's homage to his 'master' Yilmaz Guney.
