Festival Reports:
"Simon Field and the Original Shadows". Jonathan Rosenbaum writes about Simon Field's interest in experimental filmmaking and about a show of the first version of John Cassavete's "Shadows".
"A History of Could Shoulders". Pieter van Lierop notes that the Rotterdam Film Festival never had a particular interest in Dutch cinema.
As Strange As Delivered Through The Virtual Eye. Ruth Pombo reviews "Peep 'TV' Show", a film which "accomplishes a round and consistent vision of the world of today, in which the main for despair is ruled by sexual frustrations and loneliness."
"Mixing Images: A Controvery And a Bit of a Conservative Point of View". Ikbal Zalila writes: "Peep 'TV' Show by Yutaka Tsuchiya, Young Gods from Finnish filmmaker J.-P. Siili and Ntshaveni Walurulli's The Wooden Camera (South Africa) have in common the tendency in mixing images of different textures that leads to a kind of formalist hybridation".
Rotterdam-Berlinale Express. The festivals of Rotterdam and Berlin co-organize a coproduction market. Dana Linssen reports on this initiative and compares her experiences as critic attending both events
