Göteborg 2004

Young GodsThe Swedish Festival of Göteborg (Gothenburg) fosters independent world cinema and hosts a Nordic Event — showcase of new films from the Nordic countries. In this section, our jury found the winner of our prize: "Young Gods", the first feature film by the young Finnish director Jukka-Pekka Siili. The film "develops some of the predominant subjects of current Nordic cinema — that of initiatory sexual rites and their attendant pitfalls, and that of the usage of visual media for the purpose of self-discovery", writes Vladimir Cvetkovic Sever in his review of the film.
