The 39th Chicago International
Film Festival |
This festival in America's Midwest, known for its warmhearted hospitality, had invited three juries, to judge different program sections: an international jury (headed by FIPRESCI General Secretary Klaus Eder), a documentary film jury (with Mexican FIPRESCI member Leonardo Garcia Tsao), and the FIPRESCI jury focusing on "New Directors Competition" of first long feature films. The FIPRESCI winner is Olga's Chignon (Le Chignon d'Olga) by Jerôme Bonnell (France/Belgium, 2002). A Special Mention went to "Pieces of April" by Peter Hedges (USA, 2003).
